OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Because COPSE believes that collaboration within and communication of scientific outreach is important and should be sustained, COPSE:
• Will communicate scientific outreach activities centered at the University of Wyoming
• Will provide resources and opportunities for graduate student skill development in communication, education, and outreach assessment
• Will foster collaboration and communication between outreach scholars from undergraduate to postgraduate levels, thereby building a strong outreach community at the University of Wyoming
GOALS
Sustainability: COPSE will build a program that is sustainable, institutionally supported, and promotes outreach efforts that have lasting effects on their target audience.
Skill Development: COPSE will provide and attend targeted trainings with the goal of developing members’ communication and educational skills.
Outreach Communication: COPSE will bring attention to the outreach of members to the rest of the University and community.
Assessment of Impacts: COPSE will develop and adopt assessment tools for the impact outreach projects have on three tiers: COPSE, the target audience, and graduate students, while promoting using assessment tools in scientific outreach.
​Providing Resources: COPSE will provide connections, communication, planning, and resources to members to assist in outreach activities.
Building a Community/Network Among Outreach Scholars: COPSE will build a community among outreach scholars to encourage collaboration and foster communication.
